Our install advices

Wooden posts for a permanent fence
Plastic or glassfiber for temporary fence.
The posts placed with an interval of 4-5meters. Glassfiber posts have a lifetime of 8-15 years, they are solid, but flexible and will keep their original shape in any situation.
Every fence with removable posts should use a wooden post to start,- & end with, as well as wooden cornerposts (+ I9 insulators).

TAPE OR CORD

Cord or 20mm tape is recommended in an extreme windy environment

CHOICE OF COLOR

Research by the vetenarian school in lyon ( France) concluded that horses are able to differentiate contrasts. We can conclude that white is the most visible, but horses who are already used to electric fences also respect easily ‘brown’ & ‘green’ . So the choice of color is more an aesthethic aspect to its surroundings...

INSOLATORS

-I10, I39 or I19: these 3 models are the most current, & best adaptable in every situation. For long distances, we recommend to pose I13 every 20ML, and TENDELEC (every 10 posts) to assure a good tension on your tape / cord.

CONNECTION

- NEVER CONNECT 2 ENDS ( TAPE / CORD) WITH A KNOB..but use the proper accessories.. B7 & B8, I3 & I6 (or RAC/PM , RAG/PM).
- Connect two rowes by using PC236 – PC237 –PC106 or PC107
- Your energizer can be connected to the fence with article PC135 or PC105

Best price / quality choice is the PP12.
But also the basic handle 11B (cord) & 11A (includes triangle to connect tape)
Handle PP5 has a metal spring ( stretchable 3ml) : advantage - when opening the gate the spring avoids that the full length falls on the ground .. disadvantage, visuability is not good so horses can get stuck in it with their tail or halter...

on/of switch

- Practical accessory, when your mains-energizer is installed on a distance ( in barn /stable) from your fence, you can easily connect / disconnect it by using this switch next to the entry of your meadow / paddock.

Energizer with its earth-post 

Ideal is a mains-energizer wich you connect ( by using a ground cable) to your fence.
Unfortunately it’s not always possible so the GUARDIAN –energizer (9V – 12V) is a good alternative.

Warning sign 

- Its obligatory to install a warning sign to your electric fence ( article S26)

ARRESTER

Battery (9v / 12v) energizer, use article PF99 to assure protection against overcharge caused by lightning or induction.
Mains –energizer , just buy a regular arrester (same as for your television / computer) and install it between the energizer and its socket
